On August 2, the seventh edition of the children’s fishing contest “without death” was held at the facilities of the Nautical Association of San Gregorio, organized by the Nautical Association of San Gregorio, the Sport Fishing Association of Rías Baixas and the Association of Traditional Rowing Boats. Boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 16 participated in the event.
The day was a great success, with a large turnout, a sunny morning and a very pleasant temperature.
It is a no-kill fishing competition, where the impact on the environment is minimal, since the catches are returned to the sea after being weighed, causing as little disturbance as possible. As always, the most caught fish was the mullet, an abundant species in our ports.
The children were always accompanied by an adult, which gave them a great opportunity to socialize, get to know each other and create memories of a day of fishing together.
Medals were awarded to all participants and prizes to those who obtained the largest total weight captured and the heaviest piece.
We look forward to next year for another contest and another beautiful day.
Once again, we’ve collaborated with our friends at COGAMI.
This summer we organized several excursions, creating unforgettable moments for our friends. As always, we had the support of the San Gregorio Nautical Association, which regularly collaborates with us.
We hope everyone will enjoy similarly wonderful afternoons with them next year.
This year, we have launch 5 boats to sea, including the dorna CHANQUETE, which is sailing again this year.
We hope to enjoy these boats all summer long.
Good health to all.
One more year we went sailing again with our friends from COGAMI.
This season we can say that it was very special:
First: because it’s been 10 years since we started this activity. For ten years we have been bringing the sea closer to these friends, making them enjoy some unforgettable afternoons.
Second: because we instaled a special crane for people with reduced mobility, to facilitate their access to boats, if necessary. This crane is part of the the floating dock of the San Gregorio Nautical Association, who always accompany us in this and other activities.
It is fair to say that this group has the 1st floating dock in Galicia for people with reduced mobility. Completed in 2002, it was designed to be able to move wheelchairs or similar vehicles throughout the dock; it has platforms and fingers with sufficient width, allowing you to comfortably approach one of the sides of any vessel in the group. In addition, the access bridge was designed for an easy access regardless of the state of the tides. This crane comes to be a plus for these facilities that differentiate this dock from others.
We look forward to next year to enjoy such beautiful afternoons.
This year, we have launch 8 boats to sea, including the gamela from Cabo de Cruz NOVA ESPERANZA, which is sailing again this year.
We hope to enjoy these boats all summer long.
Good health to all.
